Sammy

Sammy has a rather unusual story to tell, but on the other hand, this is what happens a lot of the time. A girl called me at work knowing I was involved with the local animal shelter, and told me she had a kitten she would have to take back to SHAID as she was moving into an apartment that didn't allow cats. She had snuck him in but he wasdiscovered.

She brought Sammy over to my place, and I fell in love with him instantly - him being a red tabby and all, so I ended up adopting him right then and there.

	This was Callie's first day at my place. I was just on my way to work and wondered how things were going to go between the cats and Callie. You can't see Callie's tail wagging but it is and Sammy just sat there saying "What on earth is that creature, and what is she trying to prove. Doesn't she know I'm better than her."
As you can see, Sammy and Callie became good friends. Sammy got a little pushy at times and Callie ended up out of the bed and on the floor, but they did seem to enjoy each others company.
	What do I have to do to get some room to myself around this place?
I know what I'll do. I'll hide out here in the bathroom. It's so nice and cozy here.
	Well, lookie here. I have a chair all to myself and boy, don't I look grand. I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD!!!
King of the World. Sure. Then she goes and puts me in a cat show. But I sported my little tuxedo and think I still look rather grand, don't you.
I just love posing for the camera. I should have been in pictures (the moving kind). I Coulda been a star.
	Here Sammy is stretched out getting some sun. The cats are all strictly indoor cats and only go outside to see the doctor. Unfortunately two weeks after this picture was taken, Sammy died. He had crystals in his kidneys and after a few long days and nights, as well as all the love I could give him, he was just too weak to even stand and I had to have him put to sleep. He was only 1 1/2 years old. Too young to leave but the illness came upon him so suddenly and severe that there was nothing we could do to save him.
